From the Principal's Desk Fall 2024

9/16/24 Greetings Ellington Community!

Dear Ellington Family,

As we mark the end of our third week of school, I want to take a moment to celebrate the progress we've made and the exciting events that lie ahead.

Congratulations to our Museum Studies program for their incredible opening exhibit. Your hard work and dedication have truly paid off, and the exhibit has already been receiving rave reviews.

A special shout-out is also in order for our talented vocal department. Your recent performance at the White House was amazing. Representing our school on such a prestigious stage is a remarkable accomplishment, and we are all incredibly proud of your dedication and talent.

Looking ahead, we have several exciting events to look forward to: we are celebrating our 50th anniversary as well as the upcoming Art School Network conference from October 22-25. The theme,”Arts at the Forefront of Change,” will explore the extraordinary power of storytelling in the 21st century -- the economy, policies, and politics driven by storytelling and the important role of the arts in shaping not only the culture of the nation and the globe but the future as well. We are excited that our C.A.M.P. Department will be having their 2nd annual Young Artists Entrepreneurship Workshop. What an exciting opportunity to motivate our your people towards creative and financial independence. Also, we are also preparing for Back to School Night on September 19. This will be a wonderful opportunity for parents and guardians to meet our dedicated teachers, learn more about the curriculum, and get involved in our school community. I encourage everyone to attend and make the most of this chance to strengthen our collective commitment to student success.

Thank you for your hard work and enthusiasm as we embark on this new school year. Let’s continue to support each other, stay focused on our goals, and make the most of the opportunities before us.

Here’s to many more achievements and memorable moments in the weeks ahead!

Warm regards,

V/r
