STUDENTS NEW TO DCPS

NON-RESIDENTS &

Tuition for Non-Residents

Parents or custodial caregivers are reminded that there is a tuition requirement for non-residents. ‘Resident’ denotes that the parent or the court-appointed guardian with whom the student resides is a District resident, and can verify residency by presenting the required documentation at the DCPS Student Residency Office.

Non-residents must satisfy Office of the State Superintendent of Education’s (OSSE) tuition requirements prior to attendance. The 2019-2020 tuition rate for non-District of Columbia residents is approximately $13,800.

Please note that Ellington is not able to offer any scholarships or financial aid for non-resident tuition, nor do we know of any external financial support options.

Please note: a student whose parent or custodial caregiver fails to present the required proof of residency within 10 days of the opening of the school year will be excluded from attending Ellington. Please be advised that the Ellington Administration will not accept responsibility for falsification of residence.

For more information on tuition and residency verification please contact the OSSE Residency Office at (202) 727-6436.
