Greetings Ellington Community, I hope this letter finds you well and that you've had a wonderful week so far. If not, remember that every new week brings fresh opportunities for growth and success, so let's approach the upcoming days with determination to make them even better than the last. Last week was truly eventful here at Ellington, as our halls were filled with love and celebration for Valentine's Day. The Visual Arts Department organized a delightful array of treats and goodies for sale, including sweet treats, bracelets, candy grams, and origamis. Additionally, we enjoyed special student performances and embraced the spirit of Valentine's Day with festive attire, all while continuing our commemoration of Black History Month.

Looking ahead, we have an exciting lineup planned for the upcoming week starting February 20. We're thrilled to announce our Black History Month Spirit Week! Please take a moment to check out the flyer in the Student Affairs Updates & Opportunities Section for details on each day's theme. Let's come together as a community to honor and celebrate the rich history and contributions of Black Americans. Furthermore, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to each and every Ellington student recognized in the Honors Assembly this past week. Their dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence have truly paid off, and we couldn't be prouder of their academic and artistic accomplishments. |
Please see below a glimpse of the upcoming Ellington events and performances:  Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EECO) On February 21st, from 1 - 2 pm, the Cinematic Arts and Media Production Department (C.A.M.P.) will present original performances reimagining the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Voices in Motion Show Choir Voices in Motion Show Choir proudly presents "Remember The Time: A Celebration of Music." Join us on February 23 at 7 PM and February 24 at 3 PM. Tickets can be purchased HERE. Instrumental Music Piano Concert The Instrumental Music Department announces "Piano Concert: Sound of Spring" on March 7 at 7 pm. Tickets priced at $15, $5 for students, will be available soon on www.ellingtonarts.org/box-office. Limitless 24 - Senior Dance Showcase The Dance Department presents "Limitless 24." This showcase will be on March 8th from 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm. Click HERE to purchase tickets. National Honor's Society Induction Ceremony The 2024 National Honor's Society (NHS) Ceremony will be held on March 8th! SAT Webinar & SAT Digital Test A SAT Webinar dedicated to 11th graders and their families is scheduled for March 1 at 6:30 pm, and the Digital SAT Testing is set for March 13th. |
