From the Principal's Desk: 1/21/24

Greetings Ellington Community,

I hope each of you experienced a wonderful week. As the weather becomes increasingly colder and harsher, I urge you to prioritize your safety and well-being. Please take necessary precautions to stay safe and warm during these challenging conditions.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the students of the Cinematic Arts and Media Production Department, as well as the Technical Design and Production Students, for their outstanding performance in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. It is with great pride that we acknowledge the opportunity granted to these exceptional students to showcase their original performances, paying tribute to the profound legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Their dedication and creativity were truly evident in the powerful reinterpretations of Dr. King's life, presented throughout the day.

Exciting news! Our Pre-Audition Workshops are still set to take place until January 25th. These workshops provide a valuable opportunity for prospective students to gain insights into the audition process, refine their skills, and learn more about what sets Ellington. We encourage your participation in these workshops and appreciate you sharing this information with anyone who might be interested in attending Ellington. For more details, please visit our Workshop Link. If you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out to our admissions team at admissions@ellingtonarts.org.

Get ready for a unique shopping experience! The Ellington Technical Design and Production (TDP) Department is hosting a late winter "Flea Market" fundraiser. We invite you to save the date and join us on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 10 AM - 3 PM. Our goal is to raise funds for TDP students to embark on an exciting trip to New York City. The TDP department will be selling a variety of items, including old wardrobe items and costumes, audio and lighting equipment, classic records, CDs, artwork, set props, and much more. Your participation and support will go a long way in helping our talented students reach the Big Apple. Donations will also be accepted onsite.

On behalf of the School Home Association, we would like to remind you of the upcoming meeting scheduled for Wednesday, January 24. Your active participation is invaluable, and we look forward to your presence at the meeting. Access the meeting HERE. Thank you, and we eagerly anticipate your participation in our upcoming meeting!
