From the Principal’s Desk 3/31/2024

Greetings Ellington Community,

I trust this letter finds you all well, and I hope each of you had a fantastic week.

We want to remind you that Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year has commenced, and we encourage all families to begin the process as soon as possible. Your continued enrollment is important to us, and we want to ensure a smooth transition for the upcoming academic year.

On a different note, as we prepare for the DC CAPE testing period, it's crucial to address the safekeeping of school-issued devices. Students, please take ownership and care of your devices as they are essential tools for learning. Families, we ask for your support in reminding students about responsible use and safekeeping of their devices. Together, let's prioritize the integrity of our technology resources to ensure a successful testing experience.

Additionally, we encourage all students to sign up for the Arts as Activism: Hip Hop Edition Competition before registration ends on April 1. This competition provides a valuable opportunity for students to harness their creative talents in addressing pressing social issues through hip hop. Click HERE to register.

Lastly, we extend our warmest congratulations to the students of the Museum Studies Department for their exceptional contributions to the "Elemental: A Celebration of 50 Years of Hip-Hop" Exhibition. Their remarkable pieces beautifully honored Hip-Hop's legacy. We deeply appreciate the dedicated teachers and staff who played key roles in curating and assembling the exhibit. Special thanks to the National Hip-Hop Museum for lending historical pieces that enriched our display. Congratulations to all involved for making this exhibition a success.
