Greetings Ellington Community,
I hope all is well with you and everyone is staying safe. I just wanted to thank everyone who contributed to the success of our Black History Month Fashion Show and Fundraiser with Saks Fifth Avenue on Sunday! We raised money for each of our art departments, came together to foster both long-term and new relationships, and celebrated Black designers.
Tomorrow is the last day of Black History Month, and I hope everyone can come out and join us for our Instrumental Music Department's concert titled Lift: Solos for Horn By Black Composers at 7:00 p.m. Free admission and click here to RSVP. Then on Wednesday, we have the Ellington Experience at 7:00 p.m. RSVP here. On Saturday, March 4, swing by to see Chosen: The Stage Play. We have exclusive $20 tickets for DESA staff and $10 for students that can be purchased at the door.
SAT Day for juniors is on Wednesday, March 1. Juniors should arrive to school by 8:00 a.m. The Bell Schedule for that day will be ODD but non-advisory for everyone. On Saturday, March 4, our Voices In Motion Show Choir will be
presenting a musical concert honoring Black Heritage and Trailblazing Women at the historic St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3240 O Street, NW, Washington, DC 20007. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. Admission is free and open to the
public. We would love to see you!
