Greetings Ellington Community,
Congratulations on almost finishing Term 2! You all have already accomplished so much this school year in such a period of time. From Vocal Music students performing at the official swearing-in ceremony for the Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson to Matthew Crittenden, a senior in the Dance Department, being the youngest person to win the 2022 Mayor’s Arts Award for Excellence in Performing Arts, and numerous other achievements amongst students, faculty, and alumni.
Last Thursday, we hosted over 20 middle schools to show them the Ellington Experience with our Recruitment Show. We had performances from each of our eight art disciplines and every single performance was magnificent, embodying the goals of our co-founders Mike and Peggy. It was inspiring to see all of the bright young faces who expressed a desire to become an Ellington students and pursue a career in the arts.
I am excited to see what barriers our student artists will continue to break over the rest of the school year and beyond. I can confidently say that our students will transform the world.
